He consulted to Zinifex Limited - Century Mine and on various nickel, copper and gold operations, and has held positions as Manager
John is an experienced professional within the mining industry, a process and environmental engineer with over 45 years' of extensive base metal experience in operations within Australia and Northern Africa. He consulted to Zinifex Limited - Century Mine and on various nickel, copper and gold operations, and has held positions as Manager of Metallurgy and Environment at Broken Hill and General Manager of the Renison Tin Mine. He has extensive experience both nationally and internationally in project management, statutory approvals, and commissioning.
With over 32 years of experience in civil, geotechnical, and mining engineering, Behrooz possesses extensive expertise in project management, feasibility studies, engineering design, construction, governance, due diligence, and independent reviews. His work spans a broad range of projects, specialising in the management of mine tailings
With over 32 years of experience in civil, geotechnical, and mining engineering, Behrooz possesses extensive expertise in project management, feasibility studies, engineering design, construction, governance, due diligence, and independent reviews. His work spans a broad range of projects, specialising in the management of mine tailings and water-retaining structures across Australia and internationally.
Behrooz is also an Honorary Principal Fellow at the Department of Infrastructure Engineering at the University of Melbourne, where he lectures and supervises research on the geotechnical engineering of tailings and water-retaining dams. He has authored numerous technical publications contributing to the field.
